LaMelo LaFrance Ball (English: LaMelo LaFrance Ball; born August 22, 2001) is an American basketball player, who plays for the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA, in the position of center. Younger brother of basketball players Lonzo and Angelo Ball.
In the 2020 NBA draft, Ball was selected with the third pick, by the Charlotte Hornets. On January 9, 2021, Ball became the youngest player ever to record a triple-double in the NBA when he did so at the age of 19 years and 140 days against the Atlanta Hawks, a record broken by Josh Giddy about a year later. On March 21, 2021, he injured his wrist and the team announced that he would not play again this season, but he recovered from the injury faster than expected, and at the beginning of May he returned to play.
