Time Capsule of a Historic Textile Shop (1927–1950s) – Lot of Men's Garments in Original Packaging (NOS) | St. Margaret Undershirts, Trunk Beauty Shirts, and Hosiery Boxes with Early Israeli Purchase-Tax Stamps! - A ”time capsule” collection documenting the activity of a clothing shop or textile agent in the Land of Israel over three decades (from the late 1920s through the early 1950s). All items in the lot are defined as New Old Stock (complete stock never used), preserved in their original cardboard boxes, rolls, and wrapping papers. The lot's unique value lies in its presentation of a complete ”timeline” of tax and import systems in the Land of Israel — from a 1920s catalog, through Mandatory censorship/customs stamps, to official early purchase-tax stamps of the young State of Israel. The lot's timeline and historical documentation: * The early anchor (1927): an official, printed price-list booklet of the well-known English textile company (”St. Margaret Price List 1927 - Ref. No. 189A”), decorated with an Art Deco ornament on the front. * The later anchor (early 1950s): the imported men's hosiery boxes bear original Israeli ”purchase tax” stamps (the tax that replaced the luxury tax from 1952 onward), allowing the later portion of this time capsule to be dated precisely. Details of the garment and textile items in the lot: * Original shop box of 4 wool undershirts by St. Margaret (Made in England): a particularly rare and museum-quality collector's item, corresponding precisely to the company's 1927 catalog and price list. The box contains a set of 4 complete, sealed wool undershirts, tied together with the original factory thread to their protective cardboard board [image_blgMtA.png]. The shirts are made of fine wool in a cream color with original mother-of-pearl buttons, bearing a complete and striking embroidered fabric label with the ”Saint Margaret” crest, a round paper laundering-instructions label, and a ”Made in England – Unshrinkable” stamp (size 28). * Sealed ”Trunk Beauty” shirt box (Made in Japan): a complete, sealed package bound with original thread, containing Superior Cotton Sport Shirts. The packaging is decorated with a striking color lithograph in the Art Deco style depicting a woman seated on a globe. * A pair of Rigeo Sock Garters boxes: two original, intact cardboard boxes of men's sock garters in the classic ”Sockenhalter” design, displaying a line illustration of how they are worn. * Luxury men's hosiery in original boxes (”Grand Teint Royal” and the blue box): period cardboard boxes containing quality pairs of socks in check and stripe patterns, preserved in their original tissue paper and bearing Israeli purchase-tax stamps and customs inspections. In good to very good condition. The fabrics are completely clean, intact, and free of moth or dryness damage.
