Artisan Glass Hanukkah Menorah – Andreas Meyer (”Nahariya Glass”) - Artisan glass Hanukkah menorah – Andreas Meyer (”Nahariya Glass”). Base and arms of brass/gold-plated metal. The back panel is composed of artistic glass worked in the fusing technique (glass fused in layers), with hand-painting in enamel colors and gold. At the upper portion of the glass back panel appears a gilded band bearing the Hebrew inscription: ”A great miracle happened here” (נס גדול היה פה). Marked on the front (in the lower left corner of the glass panel): Andreas Meyer. The design of the glass panel is rich with traditional and Israeli motifs against a deep indigo background scattered with golden stars and points of light. At the center of the panel are depicted the houses of ancient Jerusalem in ochre and golden tones, above which rise two palm trees with green fronds. On the right side of the panel is painted the traditional seven-branched menorah in gold, and on the left side an ancient oil jug, evoking the miracle of the cruse of oil. Mounted on the front of the Hanukkah menorah is a row of gilt metal arms comprising eight decorated cups for candles or oil, with the shamash positioned at the center and raised slightly above the rest, in accordance with halakhic tradition. Height: 25 cm. Width: 24.5 cm. 925 g. In very good condition, well-preserved, with no visible cracks or fractures in the glass panel. The metal base and arms are intact with light patina.
