The Book Palastina by Gerhard Holdheim — Including Original Maps — Berlin, 1929 - The book Palastina by the Zionist activist and jurist Gerhard Holdheim. Published in Berlin in 1929 by C.A. Schwetschke & Sohn. Appended to the rear section of this book are two original maps in German depicting the borders of the Land of Israel, Samaria, Judea, the Galilee, and Transjordan in the late 1920s, including precise historical markings of railway lines, main roads, and the distribution of Jewish and Arab settlements of that period.  The title page bears the year 1729 — the founding year of the German publishing house, an institutional point of pride that the press noted on its books to indicate it had been operating for over 200 years at that time.  The main body of the book addresses the historical development of the Zionist idea, the various currents within the Zionist movement, and the role of the World Zionist Congresses in charting its course. This is accompanied by an analysis of the legal and political aspects of the Balfour Declaration and the text of the British Mandate, alongside the complex challenges of Arab-Jewish relations in the Land of Israel of that era. The book also includes a comprehensive economic and practical survey of colonization processes, agricultural settlement (kibbutzim and moshavim), urban development (Tel Aviv and Jerusalem), and the establishment of national institutions in the country.  180 pages, hardcover.  24 cm. 320 g.  Library stamp.  In good condition; light yellowing to the paper.  Fading.
