Antique Imperial Russian 84 Silver Besamim Tower — Warsaw, Late 19th Century - Antique Imperial Russian 84 silver Besamim (spice) tower — Warsaw, Poland, circa late 19th century. Designed in the form of a tower with a raised conical spire. Crafted in quality hand silversmithing. Round foot, square central body decorated with filigree work and an opening door, surmounted by 4 pennant flags, with 4 swinging bells suspended from the lower section. Marked twice with the Russian 84 silver standard hallmark (on the base and on the tower door). On the base, an assay master's initials mark O.C (Osip Sosnkovsky), who served at the government assay office in Warsaw between 1862 and 1896. City mark ”W” denoting Warsaw. Total weight: 114 g. Height: 22.5 cm. Flag at the top of the tower missing; light wear, predominantly age patina.
