The poetic anthology of the brothers Alexander (1878-1924) and David (1891-1921). Eliasberg has poems of 68 Russian poets, from Lomonosov and Derzhavin to Sergey Gorodetsky and Igor Severyanin. When compiling it, poems were chosen that had major artistic merit and, at the same time, characterized the authors, containing the lifetime publications of Alexander Blok, Nikolai Gumilyov, Anna Akhmatova, Osip Mandelstam, Maximilian Voloshin, Andrey Bely and many other prominent representatives of the Silver Age
Compiled by Alexander Samuilovich Eliasberg (July 22, 1878, Minsk - July 26, 1924, Berlin) - Russian and German writer and translator of Jewish origin. At the age of 27, Eliasberg left Russia and moved to Munich, where he began his literary career. First of all, translations brought him fame - in 1907 his book "Russische Lyrik der Gegenwart" was published, in which the poems of many Russian authors were first published in German. To authorize translations and compile accurate biographical information, Eliasberg corresponded with many authors whom he translated, including Zinaida Gippius and Dmitry Merezhkovsky. Over the 19 years of his stay in Germany, many publications came out from under his pen, including translations of Fyodor Dostoevsky's novels, which were appreciated by his contemporaries as exemplary. Alexander composed the poetic anthology "Russian Parnassus" together with his brother David Eliasberg (1897 - 1920). The book presents the best examples of Russian poetry - from immortal classics (M. Lomonosov, V. Zhukovsky, A. Pushkin, F. Tyutchev) to contemporary compilers of authors (K. Balmont, V. Bryusov, A. Blok). Among contemporaries, the Symbolists are most fully represented - in addition to a large selection of Blok's poems, the anthology also found a place for lesser-known authors such as Viktor Hoffman. Acmeists (N. Gumilyov, A. Akhmatova, O. Mandelstam), and poets who were not part of the group (M. Voloshin, N. Klyuev), and practically forgotten, but once very popular authors like Lyubov Stolitsa or Konstantin Butkovsky
