חכמי חלם - ביטוי שנוצר בפולקלור היהודי במזרח אירופה, לפיה הפכה בזמנו העיר חלם שבפולין למושא של בדיחות בתור עיר של טיפשים. יהודים ישבו בה מאות בשנים, והכינויים חכמי חֶלֶם או חֶלְמָאִים מרמזים לבריות שמעשיהם טיפשיים ואבסורדיים. לא ידוע מדוע דווקא חלם נבחרה לייצג "עיר של טיפשים"
