Pair of Batei Tefilin Made of Silver and Gilded Silver. Mid-20th Century
Two cases made of silver combined with gilded silver for Tefilin shel Rosh and shel Yad.
Engraved, sawed and embossed silver with a relief. On the two upper silver squares, a fine engraving of the Western Wall. On each one of the pair of Batim, embossed letters made of gilded silver with the Hebrew words 'Shel Rosh' and 'Shel Yad' and verses of Parashat Hatefillin: "והיו לטוטפות בין עיניך" and "וקשרתם לאות על ידך".
The Batei Tefillin are massive and of medium size. Not hallmarked.
Apparently made in the mid-20th century.
