Talmud Bavli. Seder Zeraim. Lublin, 1618. From the Valmadonna- Lunzer Family Library
Very impressive copy of a Lublin print that survived the mass destruction of numerous Hebrew books.
Seder Zeraim with the Rambam and Rashi commentaries.

Complete and spectacular copy of Seder Zeraim – the first seder of Shishah Sidrei Mishnah. It includes laws relating to agriculture.

This edition was printed by Rabbi Zvi Ber Avraham Klonimus Yafe. He commenced printing the Talmud Bavli in 1618 in Lublin, and printed 4 tractates. In 1619 and 1620 he continued printing the other tractates.

Books printed in Poland (Lublin, Cracow) during the these years are exceedingly rare due to the pogroms of Tach VeTat (1648-1649). During these years of oppression, thousands of Jewish books were destroyed by the wicked Chmielnicki.

This magnificent copy was part of the famed Valmadonna Trust Library of the Lunzer Family.

Lublin, 1618.
86 leaves. The last leaf is reinforced by an additional leaf. Minor staining on first five leaves. Some small worming in second half of the sefer. Apart from that the book is in wonderful condition.

Very impressive copy of a Lublin print that survived the mass destruction of numerous Hebrew books
