Fundamental book: Teshuvot HaRamban, Venice 1519. First edition, Bomberg Press.

Impressive copy with the signature of the Kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Abukara – one of the leading sages of Tunis.

Fine complete copy of the fundamental halachic work that was published in the 16th century.

This is the first edition that was printed by Daniel Bomberg in Venice in 1519.

Although it was printed in the name of the Ramban, over the last centuries it has been discovered that this Responsa was actually not by the Ramban but by the Rashba. Ever since, this book has frequently been named Teshuvot HaRamban Hameyuchasot (Responsa attributed to the Ramban).
(See Rabbi Yosef Karo's words (loosely translated) in his introduction to his book Beit Yosef, referring to this edition of the book: "I received a printed version of some of the Rashba's responses stating at its beginning that they are by the Ramban").

Signatures on the title page and following leaf: "אברהם אבוקארא יצ"ו".

Rabbi Avaraham Abukara (d. 1880): one of the important sages and Poskim of Tunis, a Dayan and Kabbalist, author of Ben Avraham (Livorno, 1882).
In his final years, he edited his important book Ben Avraham on matters of halachic doubts, yet did not manage to print it. After his passing, the book was published by Rabbi Yaakov Abukara and printed two years after his passing in Livorno.

On verso of the title page, a handwritten notation about the mistaken attribution of the book to the Ramban, possibly also handwritten by Rabbi Avraham Abukara.

Venice, [1519].
