This is the first edition of the famed book Sha'arei Tzedek on the principle of Eser Hasefirot, which constitutes a gate to Kabbalah and the Sefirot as indicated by the title page. Ever since the light of the Ari shone, leading Mekubalim instructed not to study Kabbalah books that preceded him. The only Mekubal whose books were excluded from the instruction and continue to be studied to this day is Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla, author of this book Sha'arei Tzedek.

Maran the Beit Yosef introduces Kabbalistic Halachot in his name, which to this day are observed by followers of Kabbalah and Chassidut.

The Mekubal Rabbi Yosef ben Avraham Gikatilla [1248-1305]:

one of the leading Mekubalim of Spain in the 13th century. A disciple of the Mekubal Rabbi Avraham Abulafia. In his youth, authored his book Ginat Egoz dealing with Gematria and Kabbalistic combinations of names. His Kabbalistic books include Sefer Sha'arei Tzedek, Sefer Hachashmal, Sha'arei Orah, Sefer Hanikud, Sod Hanachash and more.
