Sefer Karnayim. Amsterdam, 1765. Prominent, Second Edition Copy with Corrections and Additions.
Sefer Karnayim is an early Kabbalistic work attributed to Rabbi Aharon HaZaken of Kordena. With the commentary, ‘Dan Yadin’ authored by the Kabbalist Rabbi Shimshon of Ostropoli.

With endorsement of Rabbi Shaul of Amsterdam.

The end of the book includes Shoshanim, ‘Letters of the G-dly Kabbalist Moreinu HaRav Rabbi Shimshon Maggid of Ostropoli zth”h.

Following this are 3 leaves that commence with the words: “The young one, Isaac said… Hashem has brought to me novellae from the Rabbi and Kabbalist…that were not printed with the first…”

These are additions that were printed for the first time with this book (although they had been previously printed at the end of Ma’amar HaIttim of R’ Menachem Azariah of Pano, Direnfurth 1693.)

The בolophon mentions the workers: Shimon ben Gedaliah, Yaakov ben Gedaliah, and Yosef ben Yitzchak, all members of Mishpachat Avraham Avinu (righteous converts), all from Amsterdam. See A. Ya’ari, Mechkarei Sefer, Jerusalem 1958 p. 252.

Amsterdam, 1765. Leib Zusmensch Press. Prominent, second edition copy with corrections and additions.

[3], 25 leaves. 21.5 cm. Very good condition.

Wonderful and complete copy of an early Kabbalistic work.
