Item Overview

Description:

Extremely Rare: Massechet Brachot – with Handwritten Glosses and Notes. Thessaloniki, 1768.
This is a complete volume of the Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Brachot, printed in Thessaloniki in 1768. In this rare edition the Talmud is printed only with the commentary of Rashi.

Throughout the book, there are several handwritten glosses and notes. On page 66a, there is a relatively long note. On the last page, there are various handwritten records.

Thessaloniki, 1768.
101 leaves [printed without a title page]. 21 cm. Very good condition. Stains. A fine copy: thick and high-quality paper, new and attractive leather binding.

Early prints of the Talmud from Thessaloniki are extremely rare and nearly-complete volumes are virtually nonexistent.
