Sefer Yesod - One of the Earliest Kabbalistic books on the Torah. 'Peirush Al HaTorah al Derech HaEmet' by Rabbi Menachem Recanati. Venice, 1523. First edition. A splendid personal copy of the Rebbe of Sadigura.
One of the oldest among the 'first' books, and one of the earliest Kabbalistic books to be printed.

Commentary on the Torah in the True Way, by the holy sage Rabbi Menachem Recanati, in its first edition. Among the earliest and most important Kabbalistic commentaries on the Torah.

This book had a significant influence on subsequent generations of Kabbalists. In his writings, Rabbi Menachem frequently quotes the Zohar. He was the first Kabbalist to consistently refer to the term 'Zohar.'

Rabbi Menachem Recanati, a Kabbalist and halachic decisor, was one of the early Kabbalists in Italy in the 13th and 14th centuries. He was named after his city, Recanati, in Italy. His teachings were influenced by Kabbalists of Gerona - Rabbi Isaac Saggi Nehor and his deciples, as well as Nachmanides and his successors. He was also influenced by Kabbalists of Castile, including Rabbi Joseph Gikatilia and Rabbi Moses de Leon. Additionally, he drew inspiration from the early Hasidim and Ashkenazi Kabbalists, quoting from the writings of Rabbi Judah the Hasid and Rabbi Eleazar of Worms.

Before us is a splendid and impressive copy with the signature and seal of Rabbi Nachum Dover Friedman [5604-5643], the grandson of the Rabbi Israel of Ruzhin. An eminent scholar in Torah and Chassidus, he resided all his life in his father-in-law's court in Sadigura. His extensive library contained rare books and precious manuscripts, making it one of the most important and well-known libraries of its time.

Venice, 1523. First edition. [154] leaves, including a blank page between the Book of Leviticus and the book of Numbers. 26.5 cm. An impressive copy. The title page has been reinforced and slightly restored artistically, with some stains. The second page has been lightly restored at the upper corner, with some minor stains. Aside from that, it is an exceptionally beautiful copy.

Stefansky, Fundamental Books, No. 338.

An impressive copy of a fundamental Kabbalistic book, printed on thick and high-quality paper, with wide margins, bound in an antique leather cover with original gilding.
