Item Overview

Description:

A Notebook Filled with Chiddushei Torah in the Handwriting of the Esteemed Rabbi Moshe Finkel, son of the 'Saba' from Slabodka.
The notebook consists of 38 pages, containing insights on various topics, in the handwritten script of the righteous Rabbi Moshe Finkel, the son of the 'Saba' from Slabodka.

The author of 'Meshech Chochmah' testified about him that had he not passed away at a young age, he would have reached the rank of the 'Ketzos HaChoshen'!

In a letter of consolation to his father, Rabbi Yerucham Leibovitz wrote about him: 'The Ark of God, ' 'The Light of Israel, ' 'In His light, we shall see light.'

Rabbi Moshe was prolific in writing, and his writing was an extension of his thought—continuous and rapid. An interesting fact that can be observed in the manuscript is that almost on every page, towards the bottom rows, the writing becomes extremely dense.

Rabbi Moshe Finkel (1883 - 1925): He served as a Rosh Yeshiva in Yeshivat Slabodka and Yeshivat Chevron. The son of Rabbi Nathan Zvi Finkel, the 'Saba from Slabodka.' He studied at Yeshivat Mir under Rabbi Eliyahu Baruch Kamai and also with Rabbi Eliezer Gordon. He was sent by his father (along with his brother Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda) to study with Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik in Brisk. He also studied for a period at Yeshivat Radin under the Chafetz Chaim. In 1903, he married Sarah Zlata, the daughter of Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein, the head of Yeshivat Slabodka. After his marriage, he began serving as a Rebbe in the yeshiva and delivering ethical discourses. Later, he established a preparatory school for Yeshivat Slabodka called 'Or Yisrael, ' leaded by Rabbi Yechezkel Breskin, the author of the book 'Divrei Yechezkel.' Rabbi Finkel would occasionally come to give Torah lessons in this institution. In the winter of 5685, he made aliyah to Israel to serve as a Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshivat Chevron. Less than a year later, he passed away suddenly at the age of 42.

The pages are numbered 29-62. 21 cm. Very good condition
