Item Overview
Description:
A Heart-wrenching Letter of Appeal From Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski - "I will not have enough money for rent...or even bread and water"
Moving and emotionally-wraught letter from Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski to the Gaba’im pleading with them to have mercy on him and his family and raise his salary. He explains how the salary is insufficient for even the most meager living costs, and that he has no other avenues of income to pursue.
Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski (1863-1940) was a leading Lithuanian Rabbi in pre-War Europe. He was famed for his Halachic rulings and greatly influenced Lithuanian Jewry of that era. He played an instrumental role in preserving Lithuanian Yeshivot during the communist era and Polish and Russian Yeshivot during the Nazi invasion of Poland. He authored Shu”t Achiezer.
