First editions of two compositions.

1. Sefer Charedim - First edition of the famous poem "Yedid Nefesh." Venice, 1601.

2. "Heichal Hashem" – First edition of the piyyut 'Bar Yochai'. Venice, 1601. Unique edition. Kabbalah.


"Sefer Charedim, " on the 613 commandments and related matters, by the holy Kabbalist Rabbi Elazar Azikri of Safed.
In the book (page 43), the well-known poem "Yedid Nefesh Av HaRachaman" by the author is printed for the first time. The title of the poem reads: "Another request on uniqueness and the desire for love is based on the four letters of the name."
On the book's title page, there is an owner's inscription. And a stamp of "Midrash Etz Chaim of the Sephardic community."

The author of "Charedim" - the holy Rabbi Elazar Azikri: One of the great rabbis and preachers in the city of Safed, during the period of the Beit Yosef and Rabbi Isaac Luria (the Ari) zt"l. He is the author of the famous poem "Yedid Nefesh, Av HaRachaman." A student of Rabbi Yosef Sagis, he received ordination from Rabbi MaHari Beirav. The Chida in "Shem Hagedolim" writes about him: "...and he wrote a holy book, 'Sefer Charedim, ' dealing with the commandments and their branches, including words of 'Musar'. He elaborated on the commandments that can be practiced only in the Land of Israel... and we heard about his holiness the wonders that happened to him in Constantinople." Since the publication of the book "Sefer Charedim, " it has been reprinted in dozens of editions, [some of which omit passages found in the first edition before us], and it is one of the fundamental Mussar books, greatly beloved by righteous rabies and leaders of Chassidut.

Bound with the book "Heichal Hashem, " Kabbalistic matters and a collection from various manuscripts including a composition on the subject of reincarnation of souls according to Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, writings of Rabbi Yosef Gikatila, Shem Tov Gaon, and the Arizal. By Rabbi Yechiel Luria [Ashkenazi] from Italy-Jerusalem.

With the piyyut Bar Yochai printed here for the first time.
Various inscriptions in foreign letters on the last page.
