Modern Art: Torah Shield Crafted with Silver and Precious Stones. Jerusalem. Boaz Yemini.
A beautiful Torah Shield, handcrafted by the eminent Jerusalemite artist, Boaz Yemini. Yemini is descended from a family of exceptional silversmiths who have created innumerable and exclusive Judaica items for several generations.
Boaz’s grandfather, Yichye Yemini, headed the Silver-filigree Department in the Bezalel School of Arts. He is recognized as one of the most prominent Bezalel alumni.
The shield's delicate and unusual design is laden with splendid cut-out work, prominently displaying the twelve symbols of the Twelve Tribes of Israel in order, with their names. Precious, delicate green stones are set around the shield’s edges, further enhancing the piece's beauty. The shield is furnished with a silver chain also crafted by Yemini, completing the Shield’s ornate appearance.
