Circumcision Set within a Fitted Antique Box. Western Europe, 19th Century.
A set of circumcision implements that includes a circumcision knife, shield, and container for powder, housed in an antique oblong box. The circumcision knife is both impressive and classical word knife, with a double-sided blade and a handle made of reddish agate stone. The circumcision shield is made of cut and decorated copper.
A classic example of a 19th-century Western European circumcision knife.
