Midrash Shmuel, Russia – Poland [1820].

The Manuscript Copy that Belonged to the Admor Rabbi David Twersky from Makarov, Son-in-Law of the "Magen Avraham" from Trisk.

The book "Midrash Shmuel" is a commentary on the Pirkei Avot by the wise scholar Rabbi Rabbi Samuel ben Isaac de Uçeda. Rashi's commentary is on the right side, as was customary in Amsterdam. Published in Russia - Poland [1820].

In the margins of the pages throughout the book are four ownership inscriptions in Hebrew letters: "Belongs to Rabbi David, son of the famous Admor from Makarov."

The Admor Rabbi David Twersky from Makarov:
The Admor Rabbi David Twersky was the son of the Admor Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak Twersky from Makarov (1788-1972), who was the son of the founder of Chassidut Makarov, namely his grandfather Rabbi Menachem Nachum Twersky, the fourth-generation descendant of Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl.
His father, Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak, married the daughter of Rabbi Shmuel Abba Shapira from Slavita.
Rabbi David married his cousin Faiga, daughter of the "Magen Avraham" from Trisk, may his merit protect us. His son-in-law is Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh Perlow, the Admor of Novominsk, who is known for his books "Lev Aryeh" (Jerusalem, 1973) and "Kol Yehuda" (New York, 1986).
In his later years, he moved to the city of Kyiv, where he passed away on the 24th of Cheshvan, 5733 (1972).
