Arba’ah Turim. Impressive Set with Handwritten Glosses. Venice 1522-1523.

This is likely the most beautiful of all early editions of the Arba’ah Turim. It features quality, bold print in beautiful lettering, and the layout is superb. Daniel Bomberg Post Incunabula.

Arba’ah Turim, Orach Chaim, Yoreh De’ah, Even HaEzer and Choshen Mishpat. Authored by Rabbi Yaakov ben Asher.

The Yoreh De’ah and Choshen Mishpat title pages feature various ownership listings. These handwritten listings appear in Ashkenazi and Yemenite writing. Alongside this are other intriguing notations. Handwritten glosses and corrections also appear on a number of leaves throughout the volumes.

Venice, 1522-1523. Daniel Bomberg Press. Post-Incunabula.

Section 1: Orach Chaim. 148 leaves.first 14 pages restored and fixed. Titel page fixed

Section 3: Even HaEzer, [81]. The title page lists the year as 1521, although the colophon states: “by the brothers sons of Baruch Adelkind on behalf of Daniel Bomberg and in his home in the year 1522 in the month of Tishrei.” (The printing began in 1521 and concluded in 1522). Wide margins.
Section 4: Choshen Mishpat. [203] leaves. First and last pages are professionally restored. The volume is in overall very good condition. Wide margins.
