First edition of the responsa Sha’agat Aryeh; Halachic analyses and elucidations on the Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim, by Rabbi Aryeh Leib Ginzburg, Av Bet Din Metz, Frankfurt an der Oder, 1756.

This is the first book authored by Rabbi Aryeh Leib Ginzburg, and it was printed during his lifetime. This book gained wholehearted approval and acceptance across the Jewish spectrum. Through it, Rabbi Ginzburg gained widespread acclaim for his outstanding wisdom.


This copy was the personal property of the Gaon Rabbi Shamshon Rafael Hirsch zt”l.


Rabbi Hirsch was the leader of Orthodox Rabbis and spiritual leader of German Jewry. He was a foremost commentator on Tanach.


Rabbi Shamshon Rafael Hirsch’s signature appears at the bottom of the title page.
