Sefer Keter Torah. Constatinople, 1536. Signature of the Gaon Rabbi Shimshon Hakohen Modon, One of Mantua’s Sages, and Author of the Book 'Kol Moser'.

The book Keter Torah, 613 Biblical commandments and 7 Rabbinical commandments. Rabbi David Vital. Constantinople, 1536. Printed by Eliezer Ben Gershom Soncino.

The author, Rabbi David Vital (one of the exiles of Spain and Rabbi in Italy, son-in-law of the Maharadach of Corfu), based his work on a song comprised of 620 words [as per the numerical value of Keter. Each word of the song alludes to a different commandment of the 613 biblical and 7 rabbinical commandments. The full text of the Ten Commandments was used to form the initial letters of the song. The composition mostly clarifies the allusions found in the song, with laws and novel ideas regarding each commandment.

The book contains additional poems by the author, including illustrations of 'hands' to calculate eras. It also contains illustrations of the internal organs of cattle (for clarifying the laws of treifot) .
[128] pages. The book originates from the Lunzer family collection. Very good condition, beautiful and complete.
