Roman imperial coinage > city commemorative: AE follis (16.25 x 15.5mm, 1.65g), Alexandria mint, 333-335 AD; obverse: helmeted and mantled bust of Constantinopolis facing left, holding reversed spear over shoulder & legend CONSTAN|TINOPOLIS; reverse: Victory standing facing on prow (whose tip is far to the left) with long wings facing down, head facing left, holding transverse sceptre whose base is between the legs, and resting left hand on shield - no legend, mintmark SMALA(?) in exergue. General references: RIC VII Alexandria 64, Sear 16481; Fine/almost VF, well centered strike on smallish flan + nice portrait details, black patina; medallic alignment.
