Warning letter by Rabbi Meir Malka, about the informers amongst the community of Mogador (Essaouira), to the hostile government. Mogador, Morocco, during the period of the Vichy government, 1941.
Letter by Rabbi Meir Malka of Mogador, warning the community of the danger of informers among members of the community. [Shabbat Parashat Vayaira], 18th day of Cheshvon, 08.11.1941.

Background: in the summer of 1940 the Morocco government was taken over by the French Vichy government, who collaborated with the Nazis. They imposed discrimination laws against the Jews of Morocco for forced labor. The Jews of Morocco were released by the United States army in November of 1942 and the laws they imposed on them were annulled by 06. 1943. This letter was written during the period of the Vichy Government in Morocco, warning the community of the danger lurking the Jews of the city from the informers of the hostile government.
