Silver Medal - Technion Jubilee, 1974,

weight: 47 grams purity: 0.935, diameter: 45 mm

The Haifa Technion is the oldest academic institution in Israel. After the cornerstone was laid down in 1912, the opening of the Technion was postponed due o the "Language War". After another delay in the seizure of the building for military purposes during World War I, the first course in engineering was opened in 1924.
Over the next few years, there was great expansion in the Technion, and especially after the establishment of the State, a new era began. The Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering and the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering were tried. The impressive growth of the electronic industry in Israel is closely linked with the training of electronics engineers at the Technion. The Technion campus was established on Mount Carmel, and the Technion, which began its existence as an engineering college, became a technological university with an international status.
