Albert Einstein (1879-1955), one of the greatest physicists of the twentieth century,
a great humanist, Nobel laureate,
He came to the United States in 1933. He served as a professor at Princeton University until his retirement from teaching in 1945. Einstein's Theory of Relativity revolutionized the science of physics and led to the development of atomic theory.
Einstein approached Zionism in 1921. He was one of the main practitioners for the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1946 he appeared before the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry and delivered a speech in honor of Israel's Independence Day. He left the Hebrew University with his manuscripts, among which is his article on general relativity.
