Interesting Letter by the Rebbe of Mako against Hassidim who Admire the Singers and Cantors: Carlebach, Werdyger and Koussevitzky - 1964
Letter by Rabbi Shimon Lemberger, the Rebbe of Mako, to "The dear Avrech Rabbi Menachem" of Jerusalem. Kefar Atta (Kityat Atta), 1964.
The Rebbe writes, among others: "Regarding Carlebach, you well know that several Hassidm are caught up by it. Therefore, it is no wonder that a fourteen-year-old boy is caught up by it, if […] sit first [in the hall] it is no wonder! And several dozens of yeshiva students … participated in the concert of Koussevitzky or Werdyger … if one of them went - he would be unable to make head or tail of the Beit Midarsh…"

Later in the letter, the Rebbe objects strongly to a certain object that some of the yeshiva students receive from their parents abroad and "and according to the spirit of the Master of the Universe, never have such strands been permitted to be grown in their camp [of the Gur and Belz Hassidism]".

The Rebbe also refers to the question of how to bring back boys who have deviated from the path or who do not get along in the Beit Midrash. He ends his letter: "May we merit to strengthen and increase Torah learning…"

The letter is typewritten. The Rebbe's handwritten signature at the end of the letter.
Condition: Good. Folding marks. Tiny tears at the margins.
