Rabbi Sholom Goldenberg, the son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai Guttman Av Beis Din of Kakeh-Terevetz. Since 1882 served as Av Beis Din of Svaliava (Hungary) and the vicinity and as Rosh Yeshiva of its large yeshiva. Author of Sefer "Divrei Sholom" (Satmar, 1936) and author of comments on Sefer "Ir Mivtzar" (Svaliava, 1909). In the foreword of his Sefer, his son and son-in-law attest that he used to teach his disciples daily Beki'us and Iyun lessons and Yoreh Deah and weekly Chumas with Rashi's commentary. In addiiton, he himself studied Nigleh and Nistar, Shas and Poskim and the four parts of the Shulchan Aruch. On Sabbath he used to study Tractates Shabbas and Eruvin and on the Jewish festivals, the tractate pertaining to that festival. He had many innovations on the Sugyos of the Shas, Halacha and Aggadah. Alongside his diligence, he was occupied with leading the community in Hora'as Issur and Heiter and Dinei Mamonos and assisted the needy kindheartedly. Passed away in 1918.
