'Uvneh Yerushalayim' - R. Shlomo Carlebach - a record with his dedication and signature

'Uvneh Yerushalayim' - 'Build Jerusalem' [6 million in heaven 3 million in hell] A record by R. Shlomo Carlebach released in 1972. On the cover of the record is a dedication Carlebach's handwriting and signature: "לידיד משפיע, מתווה ורוקם, יעקב בירנבאום, ברכה אושר וחיים, שלמה".

The record was given as a gift from Carlebach to Yaakov Birnbaum [1926-2014], an American Jew of German descent, the grandson of Rabbi Natan Birnbaum. A social leader among the leaders of the struggle for the Jews of the Soviet Union for their liberation from the Iron Curtain and spiritual persecution in the 1960s. As part of his struggle, he founded the organization "The Student Struggle for the Jews of the Soviet Union". Carlebach was one of the most prominent supporters of the Birnbaum movement, which at his request he composed in 1965 for the struggle his famous poem 'Od Avinu Chai'. Carlebach sang the song for the first time in Czechoslovakia, during a Purim visit to Jews from Prague, and the song premiered in the United States at the "Jericho Parade" with the trumpets, in April of that year. The song "I Will Not Die I'm alive" written by Carlebach was also written at Birnbaum's request as an expression of Carlebach's enthusiastic support for his struggle for the Jews of the Soviet Union.

The record is in an original cover. Very good condition.
