Die Juden in der Karikatur - A comprehensive and preliminary publication on the phenomenon of anti-Semitism in Europe, Munich 1921

Die Juden in der Karikatur - The Jews in Cartoons - A Preliminary Monumental Study Examining the Phenomenon of Antisemitism in All Forms in European Literature and Press from the Beginning of Printing, by Eduard Fuchs, Munich 1921. In his book, Fuchs compiled a long list of antisemitic illustrations that became first in importance in the study of the phenomenon of antisemitism in general, And when it was first published, many were struck with astonishment by the proliferation of antisemitic cartoons that have appeared in European literature, and their venomous power. The book was published one year before the appearance of the Nazi Der Stürmer, and in many of the cartoons that appear in it, the Nazis used to increase Jewish hatred.

The book contains hundreds of colorful antisemitic illustrations alongside black and white illustrations. The author brings illustrations that appeared in the classical Christian literature of the Middle Ages and accompanied the writings of the Christian preachers - illustrations that accompanied the writings of John Chrysostom, such as the woodcut known from the blood plot of Trent (Germany 1475), illustration by Martin Luther's 'The Jewish Pig ' shows Jews drinking the milk and blood of a pig - from the end of the 15th century, The Jew who lends at interest - a cartoon that has appeared in countless forms in recent centuries, and illustrations that appeared in German antisemitic literature and in the free press of the 19th century, and early 20th century of the 'Wandering Jew', cartoons published during the Dreyfus affair, and many more. On the cover is a cartoon depicting the 'Wandering Jew' drawn by Gustav Dora in an essay published in 1852.
