The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Kopel Altne-Kundstadt (1766-1835, Otzar HaRabbanim 10303), known as Rabbi Yaakov Harif, a well-known rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva, one of the leaders of the Hungarian rabbinate and a student of the well-known "Noda B'yehuda". Author of the book "Chidushei Yavetz". His family is attributed to Don Yitzchak Abarbanel and up in holiness until King David. In 1784 he began studying with Rabbi Yechezkel Landa in Prague. Rabbi Yaakov Kopel and another single student were awarded the title "liberated" by their rabbi, which maintains achievements that allow the disciple to manage on his own without needing a rabbi. Around the year 1790, he was appointed rabbi of Karlburg, a position he held until the year 1792, when he was appointed rabbi of the Vrbové city. Due to its much sharpness that began to become famous, many called it "Kappel Harif", a nickname that goes with it and became more useful than its original family name. In Vrbové he established a yeshiva, which was the second important yeshiva in Hungary alongside the yeshiva of the Hatam Sofer in Pressburg. This yeshiva usually had about 150 students, and during his tenure several thousand studied there. His lessons were widely known, and were a focal point for guests who came for a few days to listen to them. According to the testimony of the yeshiva student, Rabbi Meir Toiber, the Hatam Sofer told him: "I know that the students who come from Vrbové do not find deep in my lessons like in the lessons of the Vrbové Rabbi". His book "Chidushei Ya'avetz" on Tractate Chulin, was printed in Pressburg after his death, by his son Rabbi Avraham Yechezkel Reich of Benovich, with the approval of the Hatam sofer It is written: "The famous do not need evidence, it has already been known in the gates ... which are indicated in the halachah and the great and powerful hand of the famous Rabbi Gaon Kapel Altinkonstadt, the late Av Beit Din and Rabbi of Vrbové...". Apart from this book, he left behind in his writings innovations about the entire Shas, and many notes in the words of Agadah. He died suddenly on the night of Shabbat Parashat Vayeshev, 21 Kislev 1836. The Hatam sofer came especially from Pressburg to eulogize him.
