Wondrous Light, of the Highest Order: The Yeshuot Moshe of Vizhnitz's 'Seder Lag BaOmer'

"His Torah protects us, it illuminates our eyes, it recommends us well."

Text of the refrains and prayers recited and sung on Lag BaOmer - copy that was used by the Admo"r Rabbi Yehoshua Hager, author of Yeshuot Moshe of Vizhnitz, over many years at the awesome majestic event during the traditional bonfire lighting on Lag BaOmer night, as well as during his tisch on the day of Lag BaOmer. In the margins of several leaves, there are names of several Chassidim noted.

Before us is a rare Chassidic ritual item, one-of-a-kind. The illuminating image of the Yeshuot Moshe at the traditional bonfire lighting in honor of the G-dly tanna still sparkles in the memory of the elder Chassidim, singing the lofty refrains from this book before us, whispering the segulah prayers printed within. So too on the next day, during all the exciting events of the great day: During the 'chalakah' - the hair-cutting ceremony (for three-year-old boys), when they change their appearance with a kippah and tzitzit, and a cap ["א כאפלע מיט א ציצית, און א קאסקעטל"]. During the bow-and-arrow-shooting ceremony, and during the tisch. During these events, the Rebbe used this book of refrains and prayers again and again, for approximately 12 years!

On the flyleaf, there is a signed confirmation from the renowned Vizhnitzer Chassid, Rabbi Simchah Hendler: "I, the undersigned, confirm that this booklet was used by the Admo"r, the author of Yeshuot Moshe of Vizhnitz-Bnei Brak, from 1975 through 1987, on Lag BaOmer at the time of the bonfire-lighting as well as during the tisch on Lag BaOmer. Simchah Hendler, Jerusalem. Two leaves of the hymn Ashreinu Mah Tov Chelkeinu ...  were completed in a professional script that appears to be an integral part of the book's leaves, per the Vizhnitz text, which is different from the usual text. In the margins of the written leaves, there is a signature of the Chassid-artist: Yehudah ben Malkah.

Lag BaOmer is in Chassidic doctrine one of the loftiest days of the year, full of segulah. The day's famous segulahs, according to Chassidic and Kabbalistic leaders include: For viable offspring (the bow-and-arrow segulah - "Like arrows in the hand of the warrior, so are the children of youth."), for a spouse, (in the name of the 'Avnei Nezer'), for Torah (in the name of the 'Pri Tzaddik'), for a home (per Kabbalah), for livelihood (the famous segulah of 'Chai Rotel").
