Important Blessing from the Rebbe for a Successful Pregnancy, Easy Birth and Healthy Baby

"May Hashem grant [you] a healthy pregnancy and may [you] give birth easily and may healthy, viable children be born at the appropriate time, smoothly and easily" (from the Rebbe's blessing in the letter)

Letter with immeasurably important blessings from the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch to a pregnant woman. 15 Elul, 1970. Brooklyn, New York.

In his letter, the Rebbe blesses the most important and necessary blessings for a pregnant woman. And as was his way, the Rebbe covers the issue from all angles, and blesses all the precise and necessary blessings. He starts with a blessing that pregnancy be healthy [without complications] and easy [without pain or difficulties]. He then blesses that the birth itself also go smoothly [without complications] and easily [without pain or difficulties]. And most important, that the baby itself be healthy and viable. At the end of his letter, the Rebbe adds the ultimate blessing for a good year "With blessings to be inscribed and sealed for the good."

Wearing amulets for a healthy pregnancy has always been customary in Jewish communities, as well as placing the amulets under the pillow during the birth itself. (The source for this is already found as early as Chaza"l. Chassidic communities have adopted it with full vigor, such as the tried-and-true segulah to place the first print of the book Noam Elimelech under the birthing woman's pillow.) How important and soothing it is to have an expert amulet over the course of a pregnancy from a special tzaddik of the generations, in which he blesses the most important and precise blessings for a sound and successful pregnancy and childbirth.

The Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson [1902-1994], seventh in the dynasty of the Admo"rs of Lubavitch, started serving as Admo"r in 1951 and continued until his passing. He was a tremendous gaon in all aspects of the Torah. His net was - and still is - cast across the entire world.
