Five Dollar Banknote Received from the Lubavitcher Rebbe on his Wife's Yahrtzeit, 22 Shevat 1992

Five dollar banknote received from the Lubavitcher Rebbe on his wife's yahrtzeit, 22 Shevat 1992.

Banknote given directly by the Lubavitcher Rebbe on the fourth yahrtzeit of his wife, Chaya Mushka. The 22 Shevat-5752 anthology was distributed at this farbrengin. The Rebbe also distributed a 5-dollar banknote to each of the participants, as well as a slice of honey cake. Banknotes with a face value of more than one dollar were distributed only on relatively rare occasions.

On the bottom of the banknote, written in blue pen: "Distribution? 22 Shevat 1992."

The Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson [1902-1994], seventh in the dynasty of the Admo"rs of Lubavitch, started serving as Admo"r in 1951 and continued until his passing. He was a tremendous gaon in all aspects of the Torah. His net was - and still is - cast across the entire world.

Fine condition, many creases, faded inscription.
