RABBI GEDALIA TIKTIN, RABBI OF BRESLAU (WROCLAW), HANDWRITTEN SIGNED LETTER TO SIR MOSES MONTEFIORE REGARDING SENDING CHARITABLE FUNDS TO YERUSHALAYIM.
Letter dated 1854, asking Sir Moses to send the enclosed funds and giving instructions on distribution, with one third to Kollel Warsaw and the rest to the other Kollelim.
Rabbi Gedalia Tiktin (1808-1886), son of Rabbi Avraham Tiktin of Breslau – author of Pesach Habayis. Rabbi Gedalia continued his father’s battle against the Reform movement, and succeeded him as Rabbi of Breslau.
