sights from Eretz Israel in lithographic print - A series of postcards published by Rephael Tak and Sons

postcards: residents of the country in traditional dress, views from various cities, important sites, and more.

The postcard factory of the Tuck the English Jew, opened in London as early as the early 1870s. In the world of ancient postcards, 'Tuck & Sons' Agency has a place of honor. Thanks to the beautiful postcards he created that were considered groundbreaking in the field of graphics at the time, he was chosen to provide postcards to the British royal court. On the back of these postcards is the caption: "Art publishers to their majesties the king & Queen", with the British royal emblem. Tuck employed the best graphic artists and designers, and due to demand provided postcards even to the non-Jewish population. In the last decade of the 19th century, Tuck's agency opened a branch to distribute its goods on Broadway in New York, at which time the agency specialized in printing Jewish 'Happy New Year' postcards.

Before us a collection of postcards from the first series printed in England. Five were mailed. Each postcard is depicted at length in the back in print. general condition very good.
