A BRONZE SCULPTURE IN THE FORM OF PEGASUS AND BELLEROPHON
Marked 'E. Picault' and 'Salon des Beaux Arts 1888'. Foundry mark. 53 cm high. *Pegasus, in Greek mythology, was the horse of Bellerophon, who rode to victory against the Amazons and the Chimera. They parted ways when Pegasus threw Bellerophon off of his back because Bellerophon wanted to fly to the Gods at Olympus.
