JOURDAN JEAN BAPTISTE: (1762-1833) Marshal of France. A good A.L.S., `Cte Jourdan maire´, Soisy, 17th June 1829, to Monsieur Serasle, in French. A rare letter written by Jourdan in his capacity as Mayor of Soisy-sous-Etioles 1829-30 (today Soisy-sur-Seine), referring to the payments due for a loan given to purchase the cemetery of Soisy, stating in part `..because the time limit of the legal purge has only expired few days ago. I hope that I will receive from now on all the documents in due order
