CHAUMETTE PIERRE GASPARD: (1763-1794) French Politician during the revolution period. He acted as prosecutor on the Girondists trial in 1793, and made a leading contribution to establishing the Reign of Terror. Chaumette held strong anti-monarchy views before the National Convention. A very good D.S., `Chaumette´, one page, 4to, Paris, 15th July 1793, on the ''Commune de Paris'' printed stationery, in French. Chaumette in his capacity of prosecutor of the Commune requests the following information from his correspondent `.. send me promptly and with the highest possible precision the health and financial situation and incomes.. let me know the amount of her debts, the cost of her house rent, the number of servants, if she has children..´ Before concluding Chaumette states `It will be necessary that you entitle your response as Economat.´ Small professional repair to one edge to the verso, otherwise VG £200-300
