Handwritten and Signed Letter by Rav Yechiel Mordechai Gordon, Rosh Yeshiva of the Lomze Yeshiva in Petah Tikva.

Rav Yechiel Mordechai Gordon (5643-5725 [1882-1964]) was the son of Rav Moshe Aharon Gordon and the son-in-law of Rav Eliezer Sholvitz. A disciple of the Slabodka and Kelm Yeshivos, he was one of the Roshei Yeshiva of the Lomzeh Yeshiva in Poland. Before the Holocaust he traveled to the United States on behalf of the Yeshiva for fundraising purposes and with the onset of the Holocaust he cancelled his return trip to Poland. He was one of the founders of the Vaad Hahatzalah in the United States. In 5710 he made aliya to Eretz Yisrael and became the Rosh Yeshiva of the Lomze Yeshiva in Petach Tikva, where he founded the 'Beis Hamussar', based on the system of Rav Yisrael Salanter.
