Trial Block for the Issuing of a Banknote for 1 Palestinian Pound. Mandate Era, Land of Israel
Engraving apparently prepared as a test run of a new banknote for one Palestinian pound on behalf of the Anglo-Palestine Bank. Interestingly, the four digits in the corner of the banknote are in Arabic numerals, and the banknote contains no Hebrew writing at all, only English and Arabic.
5x10.5 cm, the engraving is affixed to a wooden block.
Moderate-fine condition, white stains on the engraving.
