Adam and Eve

Castel was born in Jerusalem in 1909 and studied at Bezalel between 1922 and 1925. He then studied in Paris. Returned to Israel and lived in Safed from 1940, and  that period until the end of his life 1991 , was greatly influenced by the Jewish mystic spirit.

He was one of the founders of New Horizons in 1947 together with Marcel Janco, Ezekiel Streichman and others, and over the years created murals and reliefs in various places in Israel and outside the well-known work hanging in the reception hall of the President of the State of Israel.
