New Torah Scroll Ceremony, Petah Tikva (?) Late 1940s, Rabbi Goren in Uniform, Rabbi Stampfer.
20 small photos of bringing of a new Torah Scrool to Synagogue. Probably Petah Tikva or a nearby settlement. With Rabbi Shlomo Goren, chief IDF Rabbi, ad Shlomo Yitzhak Stampfer, first mayor of Petah Tikva and head of the religious council. Probably late 1940s.
Also - 12 photos of the place and its inhabitants, in the period and family photos. Most are around 8x6 cm. Very good condition.
