The text severely criticizes the British and calls upon Jews to take up arms in order to save their people: “The Time of Redemption has Arrived! …Come Help the Fighters for Zion! … Join our People’s War!” The Irgun (also known as Etze’l), an offshoot of the Haganah, was a Zionist paramilitary organization that operated in Mandate Palestine between 1931 and 1948.
