Etz Haim - Livorno 1783 from the library of Rabbi Eliyahu Ma’aravi of Damascus
Etz Haim by Rabbi Yehuda ben Hanin v’Eshel Avraham, Rabbi Avraham ben Shalom, exegesis in kabbalah on the 613 mitzvot according to the Rambam’s list, section 1. The exegesis is on every page surrounding the Sefer HaMitzvot of the Rambam, first edition with these commentaries together in this order. Livorno 1783. Signature of ownership handwritten by Rabbi Eliyahu Ma’aravi of Damascus. His stamp as well. Missing the cover [added in unprofessionally via photocopy] and the first page of the endorsements. [7], 138 pages. Originally 140 pages. Some of the pages are repaired, many stains, binding in good condition, generally ok condition.

Rabbi Eliyahu Bambagi Ma’aravi ben Moshe (1873-1955) was born in Damascus and moved to Israel. Under the influence of his rabbi, Rabbi Haim Shaul Davich HaKohen, he left his tailoring business (which he did as a livelihood) and focused only on Torah study at the yeshiva “Rehovot HaNahar”.
