A collection of important books on the Talmud, from the collection of the chassidic kabbalist Rabbi Mordechai Moshe Karfman of Jerusalem, most signed with his signature or his stamp. Interesting ownership stamps and signatures. 1. The book Toldot Avraham by Rabbi Eisenberg av beit din of Galona – first edition, Przemysl, 1881. Stamp: “Store for books, tallitot and atarot Attil Amkraut Przemysl (Galicia).” Several leaves with the names of the donors are missing from the end. 2. The book Taharat Hakodesh on tractate Zevachim, by Rabbi Yitzchak son of Zvi Ashkenazi, first edition – Lemberg 1792. Title page is missing. 3. The book Chatan Sofer on the Orach Chaim section of the Shulchan Aruch, first part, the daily routine. By Rabbi Shmuel son of Zvi Erenfeld – Munkacs, 1878. Bound with the book Lechem Rav, a responsa by Rabbi Avraham di Buton – Krakow, 1884. And the book of responsa Meishiv K’Halacha by Rabbi Avraham Zev Frankel of Reisha. First edition, Krakow, 1885. Ownership signature: “Shimon Braun son of … [?], and another ownership stamp in Latin letters. 4. The book Kapot Temarim on the Talmud by Rabbi Moshe son of Chaviv – Lemberg, 1861. 5. The book Rosh Yosef on tractate Chulin – Konigsberg, 1856. An especially interesting ownership stamp: Yehoshua Pinchas Weinberger av beit din of Suplac and the environs.” – the copy of Rabbi Yehoshua Pinchas Weinberger of Marghita, rabbi of Suplac and Marghita. 6. The book Atzmot Yosef on tractate Kiddushin, by Rabbi Yitzchak son of Ezra – Sudylkow, 1835. Ownership stamp: “Moshe Halevi Eisin, Jerusalem, Land of Israel” and his ownership signature. 7. The book Yam Shel Shlomo by the Maharshal, on several tractates with separate title pages for each tractate, tractates Beitza, Gittin, Kiddushin – Szczecin, 1861. Tractate Yevamot – Szczecin, 1862. Interesting handwritten inscriptions. 8. The book Yam Shel Shlomo by the Maharshal on tractates Baba Kama and Chulin – Szczecin, 1861. A separate title page for each tractate. Interesting ownership inscriptions, and a long handwritten inscription – Torah novaelle. Conditions vary, old bindings of varying condition, good overall condition.
