Rabbi Moshe Isseles, the Remʺa, was respected for his halachic rulings on the laws of issur and heter, and this book was printed in several editions over a relatively short time.
This edition, printed in Hanau, includes glosses by Rabbi Petachya – most likely Rabbi Petachya ben Yosef, the rabbi of Frankfurt, who was a great talmid chacham and had tremendous knowledge of the revealed Torah and mysticism.
The title page is illustrated with images in an unusual style.
