Damascene Table, Jewish Motifs
Fine octagonal brass table, inlaid with silver and copper (Damascene). Upper plate incorporating a round Damascene brass tray inlaid with silver and copper and adorned with Stars of David inscribed "Zion" (diameter: 29.5 cm). The tray is surrounded by Stars of David and arabesques. The side panels are decorated with various Jewish motifs: Stars of David, Menorahs, David's tower, view of Jerusalem, the Western Wall, the biblical spies and a Jewish figure with the four species. Lower part of side panels decorated in openwork with a latticework pattern. The table stands on 7 legs (one leg missing). Dimensions: 57X57X39.5 cm.
