War and Peace in Palestine: Memorial Album, by Yitzhak Triwaks, The Tel Aviv Publishing House, printed by Omanut & A. Strud Brothers, 1930 (5691); 279 pages including title page. Published in Hebrew, English & Yiddish this is a photo-history "From the First Days of Zionism to the Present Time with Special Consideration of Recent Events" (eg. the 1929 Arab Riots): the first 160 pages are a photo history with captions, covering then-key and today obscure personalities, symbols and sites; the remainder of the book is divided into a Hebrew and a Hebrew-written Yiddish explanation of the photos shown earlier - mostly additional biographical information; the final page is an addendum. The cover is not the original and is a little warped but the inside pages are fully intact and complete: some age marks, a few light creases but very well preserved. Triwaks (1893-1952) was a journalist, author and publisher - in Warsaw & Palestine - and land developer, a man of many accomplishments.
